woof meow squeak BANG

Woof goes first. Attention people....My friend has a cat, dog, and child friendly eight year old medium sized dog that needs a home ASAP!!!! There isnt much time to wait. She is spayed and microchipped with HomeAgain. Must go NOW!!!

I agreed that I would take Lisa upon finding a job. Even a temporary house would work. If my dear friend is doing what she is supposed to, then I should be able to take her within two - three months. I know I have said I really want a puppy but puppies tend to get adopted in shelters. Dogs this age DO NOT!!!

Anyway...there is this male orange bi-color tomcat that seems to have tried to "adopt" my house. I have been trying to trap him to get him neutered (as he is spraying everywhere and fighting with neighborhood cats) and have him possibly released into a feral colony. He is NOT people friendly and typically strolls at night. If he is someones pet, too bad.

Supposed to go up and get "my" cat neutered. Whether I take him with me or not when I move is still a mystery. Just in my opinion, one less cat to father a population of thousands of cats that will be put down in Sacramento alone is totally worth the $20.

Speaking of adopting and finding homes, I have been debating on whether or not to give up my rats. It became a thing of "what happens happens" and if I found someone that wanted them, they could take em. Otherwise Id keep them. By the looks of it, I have found a home for them where they will be spending the rest of their lives with much more toys and soft beds. So Im gonna check out this place. Hope its all good. I dont mean to impose a sort of "give away animals and take more" but hey. I agreed to taking Tux, the cat, well before I had two months to find a job.

And now my teacher. Supposedly two people in her class have Ds and she would let us know who if we didnt get a grade. Fail enough as she is, apparently only 5 people got a grade and the others got theirs later. I dont understand why she cant send everyone a grade so we know its not a mistake...but whatever. I got a zero on online class discussion because I only did 90% of the work. As in I posted...but everyone after me posted at the last minute so I couldnt respond. Homework not posted when she promised (by Wednesday night) and fairly unorganized. Time to talk to the dean? I think so. Seems the entire English Reading department is screwed in the butt by her.

Thailand vs America unexpected racism

Recently I have been looking into new breeds that are sort of making their way into the US. One that is catching my eye these days is the Thai ridgeback as seen in this picture to your left. The Thai ridgeback is one of three dogs with a ridgeback (basically a line of fur on their back that grows the opposite way) with the others being Rhodesian ridgeback and the Phu Quoc ridgeback.

So why my interest in this specific ridgeback? Well, its reputation is rather good compared to a similar breed. Lets see.

This dog...

*is very family oriented and will put itself in front of family

*loves children

*can be aggressive and EXTREMELY dangerous if put in the wrong hands

*hard headed but with a firm hand, will be an extremely loyal dog

Huh...this seems a lot like America and Britains three dogs often seen as the most dangerous dogs in the world.

So why is it these terrier breeds are "dangerous" but not a Thai ridgeback that has the same qualities? Possibly because it is rare?

The most dangerous dog in the world (as told by government study) is the Dalmation. However, Dalmations are allowed in rental properties and will NOT raise your insurance. huh...

Oh and btw more people are bitten by labs than APBTs, a breed BANNED in countries.

Now if you arent a dog person then you probably will freak out at the thought of ALL DOGS ARE DANGEROUS but its true. Dogs are a dangerous animal just like horses are a dangerous animal. The thing is with horses, we dont ASSuME that cold blooded horses (like Shires) are more dangerous than hot blooded horses (like arabs) and vice versa. Theyre the same animal and can kill you if in the wrong hands. Why do we assume this with dogs? Yes there are dogs that will lunge if their family is in danger but NO WELL TRAINED DOG WILL BITE UNLESS THREATENED!!!

My OWN ethical group

I met a guy on Myspace many years ago that was a diehard PETA member and vegan. What made us great friends is that we had some of the same ideals (calling vegetarians that ate fish or poultry hypocrites and so on.) I supported his cause till he started saying really really stupid things. He told me that hed never eat eggs because of the potential it had to be a life. Depending on what ethical animal group you are in, you will either hear that or the truth.

Chicken eggs are similar to a human period.

That is what my mom told me. Of course I saw nothing wrong with this at all. So what? It is just a waste product then. The more into nature I got, the more I realized that these eggs (unless specified as fertilized) lost their potential as soon as they exited the body...like a period. Nothing can make them more than what they are now. You cannot fertilize a chicken egg out of the body just like you cannot fertilize a human egg outside of the body.

Then this guy started posting about how everything from leather to wool was cruel. At this time, I had heard about a lady that used old hair from her dogs coat to make her own coat. This was theoretically a fur coat...just with waste material. I decided to ask him if this kind of fur coat was bad. He said yes because it encourages the death of animals simply for pelts and the same goes for faux fur.

Then I decided to ask a question that would determine if I thought he was truly crazy or not...I asked him how he felt about people eating placenta. This of course has no potential to be a life ever but is meat and a waste product (of course after the delivery of life.) He said meat is still meat and he is against eating ALL meat because it causes pain or is a potential life. I had broken his logic clearly. A placenta comes about because someone is going through with life (the life is still coming into existence) and it is a part that was never alive or dead...but just falls out (AKA waste.) He tried to convince me that nobody ate that part anyway. Yes indeed they do and it is very common in certain parts of the world. A good answer would have simply been "because it looks/is nasty" or "because I just dont like meat."

When I was looking for info to better the environment to help protect animals, PETA wasnt there (although they have some vegan recipes to help me with better health in general.) I turned to Care2 which is very similar but it is mostly petitions, not an actual group which one can really be affiliated with. Id like to start my own group...Care2s little sister but PETA and HSUSs cousin (btw HSUS and PETA do the same thing...just HSUS has a teeny more shelter help...with a lot of stress on teeny.) I want to form a group where protests arent harsh but we learn to respect one another...vegan or omnivore. There are some things that I have only learned by taking nutrition classes...that otherwise proved difficult to find such as the fact that organic grass fed beef has a better omega 3 to omega 6 ratio making it extremely better for you.

I want to form a group were vegans arent bombarded with abuse pictures and told how nasty meat is. They are vegan...they know this. However I want a site with truths (PETA supports vegetarianism for all animals including cats. Felines by nature are designated carnivores and a vegetarian diet easily leads to death. Dogs are, in short, carnivores but can be vegetarian if given a crap ton of supplements but if youre going to do that, might as well just feed em rice with these supplements. A healthy lifestyle can be achieved with no pills or extra powders. Im not against being vegan or vegetarian but for the love of God dont force it on anyone else including your furkin!)

The world sucks when youre an omnivore. Most of your info is limited. With my group, Id like to protest against meat sources, not meat (Tyson chicken, for example.)

By the way...how can we Coexist as a world if we cant even coexist as a nation? Just saying....

But...Im just a dreamer I guess. Maybe someday.

Apples vs Pumpkins

I received terrible news today.

My boyfriends family doesnt like pumpkin! Now now I know it may not seem like a big deal but my family doesnt care for pumpkin either (maybe my dads side but they dont believe in eating anything possibly healthy.) What makes me more sad is that they love apples so nana (my boyfriends grandmother) is planning on making some apple pies.

I live a few miles from a wonderful place called Apple Hill. Basically it is a crap ton of ranches that grow apples haha. Honestly, call me crazy but I love apple juice and cider...just not apples. This place produces the best apple cider ever! Anyway, we were talking about going up there sometime and maybe we could stop by a pumpkin patch to get some pumpkins.

I have never carved a jack-o-lantern

When I was little, I went to a friends house and we drew on pumpkins but I myself have never had my own jack-o-lantern or have ever carved one. I have also never had a real Christmas tree (more on that when Christmas/Yule rolls around.)

I dont believe in killing a plant or animal without using as most parts as possible so these pumpkins will be going a long way. Im inviting my brother over (who is 4) and hopefully we will get things done. Im not a fan of pie at all (unless it is mud pie or chocolate pudding pie) so what will we be doing?

? CHOCOLATE CHIP PUMPKIN COOKIES ?

I really like these as you can tell. If all else fails, I will just give them to him for class if allowed. If not, I will just donate them to my friends church where kids still eat junk food. My brother goes to a Christian private school but they do not allow certain junk foods.

...and if all of that fails, I guess I will just get fat haha.

Anyway the wonderful world of Google has introduced me to apple cookies but Im not yet sure what I think about those. If anyone is reading this, how do these taste? How do you think theyd taste?
